Hi. I read your wechat history back-up post online.
After the recent Wechat update on my Moto G (lollipop), my Wechat keeps crashing (can’t even launch). I dare not reinstall the app again as I am afriad of losing my chat history. Do you think by copying /data/data/com.tencent.mm to my PC and overwrite it after reinstailling would work? Also, the problem is I’m not sure how to use Root Explorer.

    Much appreciate your advise.

    Edwin

Please check my reply to David’s comment under the original post. The only difference is that your new phone and old phone are the same phone – it should be easy for you to relate.

I would suggest you first make sure that you can gain root access. If you ever get there, you can copy /data/data/com.tencent.mm to your PC as a backup. Once you make that copy, you have nothing to lose any longer. You should feel free to reinstall WeChat, as you can restore the saved directory from PC whenever you want. I did not try this. You can try that and report back.

Could you please comment under the corresponding post, not the About page? I will delete this comment later on to clean up.

Why do you prefer using this 2009 retired theme instead of updating to a new and actual one?
